People, place & a conscious decision

Sometimes a new life begins with a place.

For many years, we ran an institution for young people in difficult life situations. It was a meaningful and responsible job, but also a fast-paced and intense one.

When we discovered our dream house in the south of France, we knew:

Now is the time for change.

In October 2015, we moved to Villesiscle – together with our dogs and cats – and started a new chapter in our lives.

La Forçate – more than just a home

In addition to the main house, we were particularly impressed by the two-hectare park with a swimming pool at the heart of the estate.

A place with space, tranquillity and a special atmosphere.

Three lovingly designed holiday apartments were already in place. We completely renovated the fourth apartment – with great care, respect for the existing structure and an eye for the essentials.

The opportunity arose to purchase 14 hectares of land surrounding the property. We made a conscious decision to continue farming – and immediately converted from conventional to organic farming. A place that lives.

In recent years, we have had the pleasure of welcoming many guests

and experiencing countless beautiful, touching and inspiring moments.

The many sunny days invite you to spend a lot of time outdoors – in the park, by the pool, in nature, visiting the surrounding villages, at the beach ...

Over time, it became clear to us:

La Forçate is not a place for constant comings and goings.

Why we have reoriented ourselves

Our new concept –

away from classic short-term rentals and towards "temporary living" – is a conscious decision.

A decision for:

• more peace and tranquility

• more depth

• more genuine encounters

The experiences we have already had with medium-term stays confirm this to us every day.

What is important to us

• Respect for people, animals and nature

• Authenticity instead of staging

• Openness without pressure to perform

La Forçate should be a place where you can be yourself, where you don't have to function.
